APAC APCCC Satellite Symposium

The Advanced Prostate Cancer Consensus Conference (APCCC) was initiated to provide a forum to discuss and debate current questions on the clinical management of individuals with advanced prostate cancer, with a special focus on these unclear situations.

In 2018, ANZUP hosted the first Asia-Pacific (APAC) Advanced Prostate Cancer Consensus Conference (APCCC) Symposium. Outcomes of the meeting included a BJUI publication Chiong et al https://bjui-journals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/bju.14489 as well as oral presentations both at the 2018 USANZ and ANZUP ASM.

In 2020, the symposium went virtual. Outputs included the publication Chiong et al https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1111/ajco.13722 and virtual presentations at USANZ, ANZUP, and across the APAC regions.

ANZUP’s 3rd APAC APCCC Satellite Symposium took place on 5 July 2023, in Singapore, with Prof Ian Davis, A/Prof Declan Murphy, Dr Agus Rizal Hamid, Dr Bannakij Lojanapiwat, and Dr Chi Fai (Anthony) Ng serving as convenors. Bringing together 21 experts from across the APAC region, the symposium facilitated discussions on pertinent issues in prostate cancer management.

Following the symposium, a paper summarising the discussions, authored by medical writer Dr Alison Evans with input from the experts, was submitted for publication in the BJUI https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/ajco.14064. Additionally, the findings were presented at the UROFAIR conference held from 6-8 July 2023 in Singapore, as well as at the ANZUP ASM held from 9-11 July 2023 in Melbourne.
