What we're up against
Below the Belt cancers are a major problem.
Each day, nearly twenty families will lose a loved one, and 111 people will receive the life-changing news of their diagnosis.
Despite fifty years of advancements, cancer treatments have difficult side effects that seriously compromise quality of life: like nausea, that takes the enjoyment out of a Christmas feast, and bodily aches that make hugging a loved one excruciating.
Cancer hits Below the Belt.
But we’re hitting back harder.
Here's how we're fighting
We bring together researchers and experts from around the world to drive breakthroughs in cancer research.
Every step of the way, we’re guided by the question: what works?
And we know that every meaningful advance in cancer care begins with a clinical trial.
We’ve led over 33 trials involving nearly 8,000 people, which have helped to improve the quality of cancer care in Australia and around the world.
By performing clinical trials, we can continue to generate new evidence for better treatments and identify other ways to provide support to those who need it most.
Help us change more lives.
Juliet's Story
On the eve of her daughter’s 16th birthday, Juliet became one of the 111.
After being diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of kidney cancer, Juliet was given just two years to live. Further tests reduced that to only eight months.
Her greatest worry? How her daughter would manage without her mum.
Then hope arrived. Through an ANZUP clinical trial, Juliet underwent two years of immunotherapy. After another year treatment-free, her cancer is now in remission.
This Christmas, Juliet’s seat at the dinner table won’t be empty.
She’ll be here, creating new memories with her daughter and loved ones.
Every day, 111 people are diagnosed with Below the Belt cancer.
That's one every every fifteen minutes.
By making a donation, you can give the gift that truly makes a difference: hope.
Your support helps us push forward and find new ways to diagnose, treat, and care for the people affected.
And together we can change lives, one clinical trial at a time.
Donate now to join the fight against cancer and hit where it hurts: Below the Belt.
