ANZUP supports and develops below the belt cancer research by increasing involvement of various professional disciplines. ANZUP offers a number of awards and grants each year for attendance at scientific meetings as well as the development of research concepts that have the potential to make an impact in the area of below the belt cancer research. To be considered eligible for a scholarship you must be an ANZUP member.

ANZUP Astellas Young Investigator of the Year Award
The Astellas Young Investigator of the Year Award recognises an outstanding early year career researcher in prostate cancer clinical trials research with up to $13,000 to support his/her attendance at a national or international GU meeting and the ANZUP ASM.
ANZUP Trial/Study Coordinator Scholarships
ANZUP is keen to encourage and support our Trial/Study Coordinators working on ANZUP trials to attend the Annual Scientific Meeting. ANZUP is offering successful applicants a full registration to attend the conference.
ANZUP Delegate Scholarships
These scholarships are aimed at supporting the attendance of ANZUP’s multidisciplinary members who have had an abstract or concept accepted for either oral or poster presentation at the ANZUP ASM.
Each scholarship can be used for expenses incurred to attend the ASM.
Best of the Best Awards
These awards are open to ANZUP members who have successfully submitted an abstract and have been selected to present an oral or poster presentation at the Annual Scientific Meeting. Awards will be given based on the content, degree of innovation, significance, and quality of the presentation, and will be judged by an independent panel. These awards include:
- Best of the Best Oral
- Best of the Best Poster
- Best of the Best Trainee / Fellow
- Best of the Best Nursing / Allied Health
ANZUP / PCFA Partnership Grant
ANZUP and PCFA have a common interest in clinical trials relating to prostate cancer so this partnership grant aims to encourage members to consider submitting their ideas/concepts for broader feedback from a multidisciplinary panel including senior investigators, statisticians, consumers and trainees with the aim of becoming an ANZUP sponsored protocol.
ANZUP encourages and supports concepts that are:
- Investigator Initiated ;
- Multidisciplinary;
- Multicentre (ie ideally across multiple ANZUP sites (4-6 minimum);
- Inclusive where appropriate of Quality of Life, Translational Research or Health Economic components;
- Capable of leading to changes in practice
Below the Belt Research Fund
The Below the Belt Research Fund has been established to support our members in the development of investigator-initiated studies. Below the Belt Events and our supporters’ kind donations goes directly towards clinical trial research via the Below the Belt Research Fund.
The Below the Belt Research Fund provides much needed seed funding to support ANZUP members to progress new trial ideas to the point of becoming full scale studies.
Grants of up to $50,000 are available to successful applications.
