Alexander Kutikov

Professor Kutikov is an Professor of Surgical Oncology at the Fox Chase Cancer Center. He is a board certified, academic urologic surgical oncologist who treats urologic tumors using minimally invasive (robotic / laparoscopic) and traditional surgical techniques. Alexander has co-authored more than 150 original manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals. He has published chapters in leading textbooks, including the definitive chapter on adrenal disorders in “Campbell-Walsh Urology,” and has held leadership positions both in the American College of Surgeons and the American Urological Association. Professor Kutikov has significant interests in harnessing web and mobile technology to improve patient engagement and quality of care. He is a co-founder of several ventures and currently serves as the Associate Editor for Digital Media for European Urology "Platinum" Journal.  

Professor Kutikov received an MD from Harvard Medical School’s Harvard-MIT Health Sciences and Technology Program. He completed Urologic residency training at the University of Pennsylvania and finished a 2-year Society of Urologic Oncology fellowship at the Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia, USA. 


Bente Thoft Jensen

Bente Thoft Jensen works as Senior Researcher at Department of Urology,  Aarhus University Hospital in Denmark. She has been involved in Urology for more than 25 years as a trained nurse and achieved a MPH as well as a Ph.D. degree in clinical medicine focusing on multimodal rehabilitation in major uro-oncology surgery with specific emphasis on patient-reported outcome measurement and supportive care.

BTJ has been involved in international urologic nursing for more than 10 years and chaired the European Association of Urology Nurses for 7 years. Moreover, she is a member of the steering committee of the multi-disciplinary Skeletal Care Academy. She was one of the initiators of the European School of urology Nursing and is now serving as a member of the Scientific Committee and the Guideline-group in the EAUN.

She has recently done a one year surgical fellowship at the Department of Urology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center & MSK Research Laboratory in New York with specific focus on implementing multidisciplinary pathways in uro-oncological  pathways.


Peter Black

Dr. Peter Black is a Urologic Oncologist at Vancouver General Hospital, a Research Scientist at the Vancouver Prostate Centre, and an Associate Professor in the Department of Urologic Sciences at the University of British Columbia (UBC). He received his undergraduate degree from the UBC and his medical degree from Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, Germany. He completed his urologic training at the University of Washington in Seattle and fellowship in urologic oncology at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.  He has a clinical subspecialty interest in bladder cancer. He maintains a grant-funded translational research program in urothelial carcinoma and is an active cancer clinical trialist also in this field.


Robert Lee

A very well-known figure in the GU rad onc world – he is a brachytherapy expert, and editor of Practical Radiation Oncology (sister journal to the red journal). He presented a plenary paper at ASTRO last year and was the discussant for the PROFIT study at ASCO this year. One of the opinion leaders in the use of hypo fractionated RT for prostate. Interest areas: Prostate cancer, Intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), Image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT), Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT), Prostate HDR and LDR Brachytherapy, Quality of Life, Educational Technology.



Silke Gillessen

Prof. Silke Gillessen is a senior consultant in the Medical Oncology-Hematology Department at the Kantonsspital St. Gallen. Silke chairs the EORTC GU group. She has numerous research publications and since 1995, she has engaged in collaboration and leadership in multiple clinical trials (Phase I-III) including first-in-man trials.

Silke graduated from the Medical School of the University in Basel, Switzerland. She also worked at several hospitals in Switzerland, at Hoffmann-La Roche Inc., Nutley NJ, USA, and at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Boston MA, USA.
